Top Ten
I've enjoyed reviewing all the great carvers\sculptors brought up. Sorry to
say that I can't come up with a top ten because I like them all.
I would like to add one name for your consideration. Allen Houser, apache
indian from South western US. He passed away approximately 15 years ago. His
influence is seen through out the contemporary sculptors in the american
indian community.
I recently finished up going through the sculptor directory in About Stone.
Doing this kind of review does more to help me focus on what I like. There
are many fine sculptors who's work just does not do anything for me, but
that does not take away from my appreciation of their skill and talent.
I'm going to come up with a top ten taken from the about stone list. Who,
among the living from our list will be brought up for discussion 50 years
from now? Just a thought to promote idle speculation.
Carving calls, have a good day,
George
