I would like to piggy-back on Eric's question. I'm just about to purchase a
5 h.p. compressor. Prices ranges from $819 for a Sears Craftsman model
(Craftsman Professional 80 gal. Air Compressor, 5.5 hp, Vertical, 2-Stage
Pump w/Splash Lubrication, includes pressure gauge, check valve, safety
relief and shut off valves with male connections. 17.4 SCFM at 100 psi, 16.9
at 175 psi. 175 max. psi) to about $1,800 -- $1000 more -- for a Quincy
model with about the same specs. I'd prefer to do as little maintenance as
possible, other than changing the oil, on whatever unit I get. Any
recommendations for brand names or sellers?
Thanks,
