haliburton school of the arts
hey Simon
correct title seems to be Haliburton School of the Arts and the website is:
http://www.flemingc.on.ca/HSTA/
from friends who have taken the course, they seem to work in Indiana
Limestone, alabaster, and such stones with hand tools. I don't know whether
they teach using power tools. the courses are during the summer months
here - July and August - and the campus is very rural, in a small town
nestled among hills and lakes. I know the course is small and registration
tends to fill up early. all my friends highly recommend the school and the
instructor.
BTW Simon, one of my neighbours, a middle aged woman, took a 3 month
blacksmithing course there and she is doing fabulous work now, signs,
railings, garden arbours, ornamental fences, sculptural birds and grasses
for gardens, etc.
hope this helps.
Oscar
