porphyry, still alluring after all these years
Thanks Tomas,
I believe you already referred me to the Aramco site and
thank you for that.
The question of the moment is is porphyry terrazzo?
If it is, and I think it is, how funny is that! I'm
goo-goo over flooring material. We had some in a room of
our home were I grew up. A discouraging dark green and
black chunks embedding in a smooth grained medium.
I have been playing with very very similar material. At a
polish it's deep and dark. At 200 grit it's a glowing
cuprous blue slate. Very mysterious, suggestive and
witholding. Bang with a bumper or point it fractures
dark green black and bruises pale olive, lime and dusty
raspberry! Woowee!
Thanks again. I'm touched!
Bill
