Art and numbers
Two topics yesterday , but both dealing with art and numbers.
But that is a building, some would say there is no art involved.
My question is , how do you create without numbers? Proportion, the golden
ratio, Pictish/Celtic knotwork based on even/odd/ numbers, radius , arc,
square... how do you create without geometry ? And how do you get it to
stand up straight when you are finished if you do not use numbers to square
/ plumb/level? Even if you Just Do It, it is done then using something
like a Rule Of Thumb ( the Kings thumb is one inch long)

Hi Kent,
Try reading "The Seven Lamps of Architecture" by John Ruskin
first published 1849.
Good reading to you.
