Quoted text begins.Does anyone have experience with the Rotostar?
Is it a better choice compared to several regular electric angle grinders?
End of quote.

Norman,

I bought a Rotofera, the 3-phase version, and it travels along an eight metre
length of C-channel hung from ceiling joists. The big motor provides plenty of
power without mixing water and electricity. The variable speed feature is also
extremely useful. I made an adaptor to fit core drills onto the grinder spindle.
Unstoppable!

If you can afford it, a remote drive is preferable to using a direct drive
electric grinder, because you are not carrying the motor all day. However, as
Don mentioned, the flexible drive is physically limiting. If you are using an
electric grinder for wet grinding, honing and polishing, sooner or later you
will get water inside the motor.

Our workshop has an oversupply of compressed air, so pneumatic angle-sanders get
used more often. They are lighter again to carry.
