meeting sculptors
In my case, a lot of people ask to visit, but it only works out for perhaps
one out of every three or four to actually visit. Generally it's people
visiting from out of the area, and they give short notice and have a very
narrow window of time in which they are free to come to my studio. I'm
always pretty busy, and often have appointments already scheduled, or am
out of the studio on a job site, or am behind schedule on a deadline
project (carving always takes longer than one would hope, and since much of
my work is architectural, I'm locked into construction deadlines)...
So when possible I welcome visitors, but more often than not the timing
just doesn't work out. I hope not too many people get too ticked off at me
for my lack of "flexibility".
BTW, if anyone wants to grab a cup of coffee with me in Pietrasanta Friday
evening or Saturday, drop me an e-mail. (but I leave pre-dawn on Sunday).
