looking for a bright green stone
Robin,
I had one other thought. I have carved one piece of Olivene (known by
the local geologists here as dunnite, but Olivene is a major component
of dunnite and is better for marketing sculpture). It is a medium
green along the lines of a medium to light jade. Hardness is about
that of a medium marble. It has been heavily metamorphosed, so is full
of cracks, but you should be able to find a solid piece that is bottle
size.
Dean Briske 360-592-1317 has done a bunch of cutting of Olivene
boulders for me so should have a bunch of small off-cuts that he could
sell you cheaply. Feel free to use my name and say Hi for me.
