Dear Kent,

It is very normal for sculptors to make casts of their work and sell them,
you only have to go to any major museum in your country and you will soon
discover that most of the best known modern works are in fact part of an
edition.

An important thing to consider is how many you will make of each, for some
crazy reason 8 is a very normal number for copies of one sculpture. But
there is a category called "unlimited" virtually mass produced. In ethical
terms you are obliged to declare how many there are in each edition and it
normal to have that written or better still engraved somewhere out of sight.

Even more important is working out whether the time and effort is really
worth it, you have to consider whether your carved pieces sell so quickly
that it is worth your while to try this, if they sell really easily then it
may be time for you to slightly increase the prices and keep on doing that
until sales go a bit slower.

My guess is that people like stone far more than concrete.

If its money you are after there are really only 2 ways to get, design
something that people really like possible a clever garden ornament and mass
produce it and sell thousands of them or make an art that sells for really
good prices.

Best regards Clive.

Ps Much more fun seeing the prices of your sculptures doubling in 5 years
