relief carving resource
hi folks
awhile ago I posed a question about relief carving in stone (Indiana limestone) and I got many useful responses.
setting the stone aside for a time, I am now back into it.
and I have found a great book, includes a very detailed resouceful section on relief carving that others might find useful:
Carving the Human Figure
studies in wood and stone
by Dick Onians
Pub. by Guild of Master Craftsmen (sic: "Craftspeople")
Sussex, England, 2003
I got my copy through <Amazon.ca > online bookstore $25 Canadian funds.
Onians is a real good carver, lots of illustrations.
Happy carving and happy spring
(I know, you Chinese folks have had spring for weeks already :o)! )
