Sincere sculpture
Hello all:
Have you ever seen or made a sincere sculpture? Yes, a sincere sculpture.
Dan Brown, in his book Digital Fortress, chapter 128, puts it clear. The
word sincere has its origins in Spain. SIN-CERA was used for a sculpture
that had no flaws or mends with wax. Wax in Spanish is CERA, though a work
"sin-cera" (without wax) was a true, high quality piece of art without wax
patches. Later, the word was introduced to the English language with its
present meaning.
Dulce, being from Spain, could give us additional light. By the way Dulce,
if you are reading this: HAPPY BIRTHDAY today April 13th.
"SincerAlly,"
Hugo, in Bolivia.
