Hello Ad,
I think your next jump should be for air hammers. I would recommend a
Cuturi U type for roughing out and E type for your detail work (Trow &
Holden makes comparable models). These hammers do not require a large
compressor (only 4cfm), but think ahead because air grinders use much more
air. Noise is a real issue once you move to a compressor and power tools.
Next you may want to look into a die grinder.
For the type of work you are describing, I would not worry about polishing
equipment (wet or dry). I find it diffiult to really use polishing
equipment on 250lb pieces and usually end up polishing most of the sculpture
by hand.
