Angle Grinders
Hi my friend,
If you plan to sculpture, you must use zec type electroplated cutting
disks to cut flat surfaces, so you can't leave the guard . With or
without guard, if you plan to use cutting disks of carbide, NEVER use
without special protective rings, it may break with lethal results. if
you will cut granite, when you see vibration of disk thus heat, stop and
let it cool because it may also break. Better wear protective glasses.
Carbide type 3mm disks cuts marbles and fragile materials with less
plucks, but almost every craftsman, for safety speed and duration use
electroplated disks.
Using grinder witout guard is dangerous.
1. Never wear or let down long sleeves clothes. A friend of mine cut his
arm, because disk stuck in his sleeve. Also remove chains or pull back
long hairs.
2. Important is to use grinder in very low rmp and without pressure, if
you remove the guard. You must be patient but you are more safe.
3. THE MOST IMPORTANT. When you cut, you cut from front to back (from
front to your position) always pull, never push the grinder front . Also
cut strictly and straight, not to have disk side tention else disk may
grip and you may loose the control of grinder or break.
Once, i forced side tension in a carbide 18cm disk (aprox 7inches). It
broke. It hit me in the abdomen. It made me a smal cleft. I don't want
to imagine what it may have happend if it had hit me in head .
Anytime be careful and learn well the disks and grinder instructions.
I hope i helped you
Mike
