Sage Grinder Safety Advice....Guard Related....
First, thanks to all who have added to the grinder questions. Its
been interesting.
It seems people remove guards to make the tool less cumbersome
(lighter, smaller, less physical and visible obstruction). A lot of
kickback seems to come from moving too fast, misalignment, non-
straight cuts, swarf in the kerf, etc). Some remedy this by cutting
back the size of the guard, but exposing more blade.
Is there a drilled metal guard (i.e mesh) that would allow better
sighting to eliminate or reduce these problems?
