Electrominerals
Hello,
I was hoping that someone could help me with identifying a man made mineral
that I found in a junk yard here in Ontario. It is very hard and heavy with
a bronze tint, heavier than steel.
I was at a junk yard buying electrical panels and there was a crate of these
metalic looking rocks. I have been told that they were made at Washington
Mills Electro Minerals but can't confirm.
Here are some pics of some of the small ones. Sorry I am not a photographer.

I was hoping that with the nice color and sheen that these rocks have I
could incorprate it into some sort of inlayed table top or something. These
rocks were apparently produced by a company specializing in abrasives so the
polishing is going to be a problem. I was hoping for help on that.
There was approximately 700lbs of this stuff there and I managed to get the
lot and keep my shirt at the same time. Some of the pieces were about 150lbs
at about 5 inches thick. If it polishes well it would be nice to cut across
the surface for larger inlays.
Any help?
John A. Klassen
The pics are of the smaller pieces on my bookshelves. The bigger pieces are
looking great next to the flowers in my sisters gardens.
