Moving 3000lbs?
Schuyler,
I would use a tripod. With a tripod, you can swing the stone about a foot
at a time. I have done so with 2000lb stones, just not that far. I felt
that it was safe as long as you don't get carried away. Then of course
use the tripod to put the stone on your pedestal. I think a person that
works with large stones would find a tripod very useful. I made mine but
Granite City Tools has a 2 ton model.
