From a young artist:

On wednesday, I attended an Artist's Talk by Mathew Cerletty, a 28? yr old painter who has been supporting himself as an artist since he graduated in 2002. http://www.mathewcerletty.com/paintings.html

So in the Q & A afterwards I asked him If he gets "Painter's Block" and if so, What does he do when it happens?
His answer: I repeat what I did last piece, with a slight variation, and I call it a series. Then he said a little more about his process.

He is a very amusing man, and I suspect there was a little toungue in cheek, but I understood him to mean that when he is stuck he picks up his tools, starts working, and continues to keep moving until the next idea emerges and drives him towards a finish.

From a master teacher:

Yogi Bhajan gave these 5 Sutras for the Aquarian Age

1)Recognize that the other person is you.
2)There is a way through every block.
3)When time is on you, start and the pressure will be off.
4)Understand through compassion or you misunderstand the times.
5)Vibrate the Cosmos and the Cosmos will clear the path.

In my experience, the act of moving releases the energy within me.
Trusting my intuition to guide me releases my creativity.

That said:

If you really are tired, it is sometimes good to rest.
The best journeys in life involve climbing to the next plateau, then strolling for awhile before climbing again.
Taking time to recharge and renew your energy is an important part of the life process.

Then Again:

If you are just tired of doing shows, a good session of grinding and hammering in the shop would be a great way to reward and renew yourself.
You know, one of those sessions where you forget about artistry and just make the stone fly.
