Dianne,
I don't know much about all the different dust collection units, other then
you get what you pay for. All of the small , homeowner units will help, but
you still need to use a good dust filter, face mask to really protect your
lungs. Robin Antar's solution looks great to me, if you don't mind your
whole face covered. I use a mask from Granite City Tool Co. that is very
comfortable, has replaceable filters and cost about 60 dollars. It's
standard for anyone in the granite industry to use a good mask.
Dust control is an important part of stone carving, and it sounds like you
are doing the right things. The most important thing is to religiously use
your safety equipment.
