Hello Sky, yes this is a common method for removing bulk stone, nothing new,
as the Greeks used this method, carving long paralel lines and then removing
the stone between. I once took stone off that was ten feet wide by
twenty-six feet high using this method in carving a large relief in Indiana
limestone. I used a common circle saw with a carbide blade, making five inch
deep cuts, four inches wide and then pitching the stone between. It works
