Subject:
stone sculpture from China
Hi all,
I think we're over reacting to this, and, dare I say, it are showing some
rather unreasonable bias.
Sure I find it amusing when I am approached by a Chinese Co who claim, in a
faltering style of English, to be able to make my sculptures for me, I'd
feel the same if Studio Sem claimed the same from Pietrasanta in Italy.
The Chinese have a highly competent stone industry and a tradition as long
as anywhere else on Earth, what we may be complaining about is unsolicited
emails of all kinds from all places and anybody who cheats.
Just as there are numbers of artists who have their work done for them in
Italy there is growing band who use China.
What we should really be doing is finding out which firms we could recommend
so that people do not get burned.
All the best Clive
