Attractive and lasting house signs and memorials made from real Welsh slate. Handpicked from the quarry in North Wales where it was formed millions of years ago, the slate is transported to our workshop in Surrey where we make it into a tasteful and attractive, yet highly functional sign to adorn your home. Our stone also makes lovely memorials for pets and people that reflect their uniqueness and individuality.

Underground quarry, worked since Roman times, which supplied Beer stone used in 24 cathedrals. Over 70 acres of underground workings where generations of local families earned their livings in appalling conditions by candlelight. One hour guided tours by trained guides, bring 2000 years of heritage vividly to life. See where contraband was hidden from the excise men during the smuggling days, where Catholics worshipped at a secret chapel in the reign of Henry VIII.Imagine yourself working here, and you will never see a cathedral whith the same eyes again.

Nick began working with stone as an apprentice stonemason at Canterbury Cathedral in England and then went on to study carving at the City and Guilds of London Art School. Although he has worked with stone for over 25 years at Canterbury, Rochester, Wells, Exeter and Salisbury Cathedrals it is only in the last four years that he has turned his skills to creating his own work in stone. A major commission to carve a life size Buddha statue in 2000 was followed by a journey to Goa and Karnataka in 2001 meeting Indian stone carvers and visiting the ancient temple sites of Hampi, Aihole, Patadakal and Badami which proved a highly inspiration experience. Nick's most recent commission was to carve a sculpture entitled 'Willow Leaves' which was inspired by the beautiful gardens of Dillington House in Somerset, U.K.
