Timeless Stone Sculpture-the healing power within The dust hasn't settled since finishing my first stone carving, back in 1991. Hand carved granite, marble, alabaster, and limestone are my primary sculpting materials with bronze, and kiln cast glass limited editions complimenting the stone sculptures. Since September 11th, 2001, the focus of my work has been inner and outer peacemaking. My greatest joy is expressing my love of life through creating sculptures, bringing them into the world and sharing their beauty, compassion and peace. I use the medium of stone sculpture to express my vision for a life of beauty and compassion for all humanity. My sculptures hold my intention for healing ourselves as we learn to live in harmony and gain inner and outer peace. I would be happy to share more about my sculpture or my process. Please contact me if interested.

The Northwest Stone Sculptors Association (NWSSA) began gathering at an annual stone carving fest over 20 years ago in the pacific northwest. We have since grown to include stone sculptors and associates from throughout the western US, Canada, and other parts of the world. One of the main things that keeps us together is the fantastic open-to-all stone carving symposiums held in the spring, summer, and fall. These events draw between 25 to 75 people for a week or more in beautiful rural areas of Washington and Oregon. Lodging and camping right there. You can expect a fun, supportive, and productive good time. College credit sometimes available through University of Oregon. Scholarships and work-study opportunities are sometimes available. NWSSA also publishes a bimonthly journal, SCULPTURE NORTHWEST, with articles on the art of stone carving, featured artists, and events.

A full time stone sculptor, doing public and private commissions, my favorite subjects are hand carved figures in limestone and marble, however my latest was a historical statue done in granite. My Dove Project raises money for charitable organizations helping victims of war in Iraq. Most of my work for galleries and exhibitions are narrative sculptures, telling stories, and illustrating themes of Peace, Love, and Mother Earth. I have been a member of the Northwest Stone Sculptors Association since 1992, and a teacher at many of their symposia.
