Carved a 30,000 lb. "River Bedroom" suite in marble and limestone situated along the Hudson River in the Sculpture Meadow on the Hudson for the City of Yonkers, NY in 2003. Recently completed a stone sculpture "Water Into Water" commissioned by Stanford University to honor the 14th Dalai Lama's visit in 2005.

    The Mark Andrew Sculpture Studio produces artwork in carved stone and wood, as well as bronze castings. Wildlife carvings and human figure work have formed the main body of my work in the past 35 years. Public and private commissions have given me a thorough background in a variety of media and styles. Traditional European chipcarving in wood has been a great love of mine. The Studio is located south of Eugene, Oregon, on a rural homestead where my studio work can be balanced by a simple life of gardening and caring for the farm. I offer a line of garden art, including stepping stones and statues. I also work with the Reinmuth Foundry in Eugene to produce rubber molds for bronze artwork, and to cast bronzes for artists all over the Pacific Northwest.

    My mission as a sculptor is to create a visual record of modern culture by capturing contemporary everyday objects in stone. By replicating the model on a life-scale along with marking and symbol details, I attempt to freeze the object in time as an artistic form of artifact. I achieve this high degree of realism through the use of such materials as parts of the real object, custom-made stains, paints, plastics and gold leaf.
