Wisconsin-Norid born artist, Patricia Bengtson-Jones continues to find perfect balance in order to bring a spirit of motion. She uses monolithic forms, arches, stacking or layering to denote time past, while working with the elements (earth, water, sun and stone) to bring unity. This life voyage sheds some light on the unexplained phenomena of past cultures, enabling the sculpture to settle in a fantasy of somewhere between the worlds of mind and earth.

With his sculptures, Thomas Berger thrives to express his admiration for nature in all its forms: the universe, our planet, life in all its variations, our human existence. "I see the amazing wonder in all forms of life, even and especially in the most primitive ones. The simple shape of a rock boulder often inspires me and forces me into creative spontaneity. I often introduce an earthy, eroded quality into my works, with scars and traces of erosion on the surface. Besides scaly fish and crusty creatures of the sea, I like to carve castles and ruins that I place in rock gardens. To me these things express the age of life on earth, and also the connection between the mineralic earth and the organic beings of life. Sculpting has a spiritual quality for me, like singing in a church" Thomas Berger is the owner of Green Art, a landscape design and stone art business, located in southern Maine. He studied agriculture in Germany and worked in many contries before settling in the USA.

Timeless Stone Sculpture-the healing power within The dust hasn't settled since finishing my first stone carving, back in 1991. Hand carved granite, marble, alabaster, and limestone are my primary sculpting materials with bronze, and kiln cast glass limited editions complimenting the stone sculptures. Since September 11th, 2001, the focus of my work has been inner and outer peacemaking. My greatest joy is expressing my love of life through creating sculptures, bringing them into the world and sharing their beauty, compassion and peace. I use the medium of stone sculpture to express my vision for a life of beauty and compassion for all humanity. My sculptures hold my intention for healing ourselves as we learn to live in harmony and gain inner and outer peace. I would be happy to share more about my sculpture or my process. Please contact me if interested.

In our high tech world, the age-old technique of direct carving in stone continues today. CARL BERNEY melds the beauty of stone-the “bones of the earth” - with a spiritual aesthetic. CARL BERNEY works in marble as well as limestone and alabaster. He is drawn to the spiritual traditions of different cultures, believing they all relate to the same universal source. The feminine principle is a guiding influence. He has created goddess figures, a nine-ft.-tall female oracle, as well as abstract torsos. His recent work includes feline forms including a cheetah and domestic cats. “Cats are so fluid”, says the artist. “They are natural subjects for sculpture”. A monk with flowing robes, Buddha, and Kokopelli-the mythological flute player of the Southwest-combine the spiritual and the stone in the manner of the ancients. CARL BERNEY'S work may be seen at Jezebel Gallery in Madrid, New Mexico. Many of the stone sculptures are available in bronze.

My medium is monumental stone. I collaborate with the stones ... choosing areas where I alter the stone. In doing this I attempt to create a harmony between the alteration and the original stone ... to add a new history to the old. Simultaneously while altering the stone, I am also using the same process in 'preparing' the site/environment. The sculpture and environment become one/inseparable. Often times metal and/or water is combined with the stone. Suzanne Biaggi, a stone sculptor located in Nothern California, does commissioned site specific sculptures for collectors, and public art projects that are installed in all parts of the United States. She works with architects, private clients, and public agencies.

Biscornet, J. Bisson

Sculptor, living in the Laurentian hills of northern Quebec Canada. "Part of the Canadian shield, the hard native precambrian stones I work with are some of the oldest on this planet, almost one billion years old. My work in stone and clay , relates mostly to nature that surrounds me. The symbolism and the magic concerned ,are both heritage from my native ancestors," guardians of the eastern door to this continent". In 1991 J.Biscornet was apprentice in life and in stone sculpture to Pierre Székely, Hungarian/French sculptor, from whom he learned this important message: " Always calibrate your work with the joy it creates".

As a stone sculptor, I am drawn towards organic shapes, patterns, and textures naturally occurring in the environment. While utilizing each stone’s “imperfections” and “impurities” to enhance and strengthen the dynamic design composition of a piece, I let the stone speak for itself and strive to bring out each stone’s innate features, textures and colors. In the end, the stone dictates and determines the final piece.
